How to Use Reset TV

Reset TV is a programme of free online workshops, webinars, trainings, listening spaces and more, using the video conferencing service Zoom. We’re using Zoom so sessions can be interactive, we want you involved and all are welcome!

If you click on the Reset TV logo at the top of the screen you will find our programme. Using the yellow buttons at the top you can navigate to the programme for different days. Within these timetables are different events. If you click on the event you will navigate to the webpage for your chosen event.

To join an event, you will need to have downloaded and familiarised yourself with Zoom in advance. Download our How To Use Zoom guide here.

In the event webpage you will see a link in blue that will say either 'Zoom Link' or 'Register Here'.

For 'Register Here'

Some events require pre-registration, you can identify these where the description of the event says ‘register here’ or ‘sign up here’.. This will take you to a ticketing website where you will be asked to enter your details to register. In your registration confirmation, you will be given a URL and possibly a password. Copy/ paste the URL into your web browser and press enter at the time of the call, and enter the password if prompted.

For 'Zoom Link'

If you see 'Zoom Link' instead of 'Register Here' on the event webpage, this means you do not need to register in advance. At the time of an event, click on ‘Zoom Link’ in the event description blue, and if you get a pop-up saying ‘Open Zoom’, click that as well. You will the get options to join with audio/ join with video; click yes to these. You should be now on your call!

It’s possible that events may be oversubscribed. If you can’t get in, we apologise - in the future we will be increasing our use of ticketing websites to pre-register for events.

For Hosting an Event on Reset TV

'Zoom bombing' is a potential issue, and security precautions to make sure your event go well is a top priority of ours.  As such, we've put together this Zoom Workflow & Security Guide, which details step by step instructions for how to set up the security features in Zoom, and how to handle a situation, should one occur.  Please familiarise yourself with this guide and your settings ahead of time, and you should be all prepared!
